Chemical Corporation is founded by Robert Cheng in Quezon City.

manufacturing coil springs for beds in a 10-hectare plant site in
Valenzuela, Bulacan.
Installs additional foam-making facilities in Valenzuela Compound,
bringing the plant’s production capacity to 1,000 tons each
year.

Invests
in Wire Drawing Technology at the Coil Spring Plant.

Sets
up Mayer Velvet Manufacturing Corporation in Valenzuela, hence starting
the textile business of RGC.

Polyfoam
adopts Vertifoam technology, the latest in foam manufacturing in
the ‘80s. Output volume increases to about 4,000 tons each
year.

Sets
up Uratex Philippines, Inc. to upgrade the level of customer service
for customers in the Southern part of Manila and adjacent cities.
The modern Vertifoam technology is used to produce Uratex foam.

The
automotive foam line spins off from Polyfoam and establishes its
own plant in San Pedro, Laguna.
RGC Textile Manufacturing Corporation is founded in Pasig, Metro
Manila to produce BOA fabric. This is soon followed by tricot and
mohair materials.

Builds
a new foam production plant in Marikina, Metro Manila.
Creates a coil spring manufacturing facility in Tandang Sora, Quezon
City.

1993

Establishes
Roberts Automotive and Industrial Parts Manufacturing Corporation
in an industrial complex in Canlubang, Laguna. Production takes
off at the Radiator Plant, Tool and Die Plant, and Stamping Plant.
At the same time, the Engineered Products Group is being organized.

1994

As
German technology and facilities are procured, the Engineered Products
Group ventures into leaf spring manufacturing.

1995
|
|
RGC Textile enters into a technical agreement with Japan’s
Tatsumura Textile Co. Ltd. to manufacture textile for automotive
upholstery.

Forms
a joint venture with INOAC, a Japanese corporation, to manufacture
and distribute specialty foams for automotive and electronic industries.
Uratex revolutionizes foam production with the acquisition of two
technologically advanced equipment from Europe: the 32-Station Carousel,
a high-tech foaming robot for molded foam, and the CNC Contour Cutting
Machine, a program-controlled machine for slabstock foam products.
Through the technical expertise of Futaba Industrial of Japan, Roberts
AIPMC begins manufacturing mufflers and exhaust systems for the
automotive OEM industry.

up a new, modern and comprehensive R&D laboratory.
RGC Group embarks on a three-year campaign towards Excellent Customer
Service.
Acquires the internationally acclaimed Multiflex Foaming Machine
from Hennecke of Germany. Builds and opens a new facility in Plaridel,
Bulacan where the Multiflex machinery is now being operated.

Philippines, Inc., the flagship company of RGC Group of Companies,
successfully passes the criteria for ISO 9001.

| 2002 |
|
The
ISO 9001 Certification of Registration is formally awarded to Uratex
Philippines, Inc.
Uratex begins production of visco-elastic foam, a major breakthrough
in global foam science and technology.
